You Own Your Data

All of your app data resides on your device. No data is sent off of your device. We do not run any servers that communicate with the app. There is no advertising in the app as we believe that is an invasion of your privacy.

What Data Does the App Collect?

You use the app by recording your mood, ketone level, sleep logs, and other information needed to get a holistic view of your mental and physical health for the purposes of putting mental illness into remission with nutritional psychiatry practices.

We collect this data only to display it back to you either as text or visually in graphs.

App Limitations to Protect Your Privacy

The app has no internet connectivity (aside from processing payment if you choose to donate to development and hosting efforts, and optional opt-in Fitbit syncronization – see below), and absolutely no data comes back to the creators of the app.

There is no artifical intelligence or machine learning mining your data.

No 3rd parties have access to any of your data. See integrations below.

3rd Party Integrations

Apple Health and Google HealthConnect

Starting in version 1.19.0 the MetaMood app is capable of connecting to Apple Health (iOS) and Google Health Connect (Android). This functionality is to prevent you from having to enter your sleep and weight in multiple apps. You as a user must explicitly connect to these apps in the MetaMood Settings menu.

I want to be very clear, MetaMood only reads data from these apps, none of your data from MetaMood goes back to them. It is a read-only connection. Once you allow MetaMood to read data from these apps, you can always disable that connection in the phone settings without affecting MetaMood functionality. Contact me below if you would like to discuss this further.

FitBit

Starting in version 1.27.0, you can opt-in to sync your FitBit sleep and exercise data with the MetaMood app. This functionality is to prevent you from having to enter your sleep and exercise in multiple apps. You as a user must explicitly connect to these apps in the MetaMood Settings screen.

Deleting Your Data

All data entry screens in the app have the ability to delete entries. This is true for whether you manually add data or it is imported from 3rd party integrations. Go to the screen for which you want to delete data and find the trash can icon next to the entry you want to delete.
